They've kept the Black Pearl name alive, because it resonates deeply with a lot of customers, but the skis are all new. The Blizzard Black Pearl 84 Skis are the narrowest of the new offerings, and are a prime example of a carving ski that doesn't struggle off-piste or in a foot of new snow. Major changes are a new and even more dialed W.S.D.(Women Specific Design) Trueblend Core and a different Titanal configuration that mimics the shape of the Sheeva's with an added element under the cutout and separated by a layer of fiberglass. Performance, as you would expect from Blizzard, is tremendous both on hard packed and variable snow.
Rocker Camber Rocker – Ski profile with rocker at the tip and tail, camber in the middle. Reducing the pressure on the edge at the tip and tail makes the ski even easier to handle and increases flotation on powder snow. The camber guarantees great grip on packed snow.
TrueBlend W.S.D. Core – TrueBlend core of Beech with seven stringers of Poplar, tailor-made for each length of ski, using lighter Women's Specific Design woods.
Two-Piece W.S.D. Titanal Laminate for Grip and Stability – No longer a single sheet of Titanal, the 2025 Black Pearl uses a two-piece laminate with a sheet of fiberglass in between the layers. The upper layer of metal resembles the shape of the FluxForm Titanal layer in the Sheeva skis and the lower layer fills in the gap in the center.
Sandwich Compound Sidewall – Full ABS sidewall construction for power and precision
Sintered Graphite Base
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
